Awesome place. I did a backpacking trip last June here. All of box lake was frozen over (again it was June). Such an awesome place. Grab any pie from Pie In the Sky?

Great job on the HDR! For the most part I think that the real advantage of HDR is that you can make the scene look the way that we perceive it with our own eye. It’s fun to push the limits sometimes but HDR is at it’s best just like this.

Thanks. I agree.

Beautiful view, it doesn't even look like HDR. :) But I especially like that ice blue sky and water, there's that whole "winter" feel to it.

Wow...a really nicely done HDR!

Now, you need to teach me...I have photomatrix and have almost given up. I have some resonable stuff, but I'm not liking the "fake" look. This doesn't have that.

thanks. I think its trial and error when using Photomatix. I still use Photoshop to generate the HDR since it has better layer alignment correction. Then I use Photomatix to tonemap. I always use "Details Enhancer" and just toy with the settings. The ones that seem to make things look really unrealistic is "Strength" and "Light Smoothing"... I usually keep most of the settings pretty low because I like that real photo look, I just want a little more dynamic range.

You made the hdr technique look very natural here
