This Syrian Hamster was a pet of mine a few years back. Her name was Ginger and she lived about a year and a half. I took this photo not long after I had fixed up my Canon AE-1P... I still didn't have a macro lens and I was using a desk lamp to light this. I got lucky and captured this shot... I think it looks like a real portrait and if you have ever tried photographing rodents at close range you know how hard it can be.
This is one of my peronal favorites. I hope you enjoy it too...
(edit) - This was exhibited at the 2007 Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, Ca.
I personally love this picture, the little hamster looks like it's got a spunky personality, and it's seemilbgly posing perfectly. I like how we see the hamster and ball and wood chip things very close up, and as you go back, you see the rest of the hamster's cage toys and food bowl, ect. It gives the picture a feeling of depth. Overall, it's a wonderful piece, definatley a fav!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
